It is no easy task to develop a vision for a museum on an exciting but long-neglected historical site with half-ruined buildings. A great deal of effort was required to realise this idea. The ongoing development of the museum concept, the implementation of new ideas and the realisation of the diverse range of offerings also require a great deal of energy and networking – and, last but not least, financial support. As a non-profit limited liability company, the MIK is particularly dependent on this support.

The Friends Association, founded in 1990, has been involved from the very beginning. It was a key initiator of the museum and played an active role in its creation. Today, it continues to accompany and support the MIK in its ongoing development.

If you are passionate about the MIK with its special atmosphere and unique setting on Osnabrück’s local mountain, and if you share our values and would like to contribute to our initiatives and ongoing development, you’ve come to the right place! We support the MIK by providing ideas and impetus, leveraging our network, and offering financial support through museum education programmes, events and exhibitions.
